Brave New Words

The founder of Khan Academy, Salman Khan, wrote "Brave New Words: How AI will Revolutionize Education (and Why That's a Good Thing)" in 2024. The book is part history of Khan Academy, part introduction to AI and LLMs, large part of Khan Academy promotional work (other reviewers also felt this book felt like an infomercial), and part of how AI relates more broadly (often quite generically). As an educator who has to redesign courses to utilize the opportunities and mitigate the risks, I did not find the book particularly insightful (the case for AI was clear, but less the details on how, other than using Khan Academy). Several points were repeated several times, such as in person exams being mentioned multiple times in response to the challenges. The intended audience may have been not academic (I believe it was), as this is a mass market press book with Penguin. If you are interested in an intro to AI and education or the Khan Academy utilization of AI, this could be quite useful. Otherwise, I might pass on it.
