Post-doc: Sociology of Markets (Germany)

The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the field of the sociology of markets, particularly for projects on the role of the future in economic action. The successful applicant will be part of the Sociology of Markets research group headed by Prof. Jens Beckert.

Applicants are required to hold an excellent PhD in sociology, political science, or economics and have a research focus in economic sociology. Excellent English is essential. The position is for an initial three-year period with an option, following an evaluation, for another three years. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to pursue a habilitation and to teach at the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy.
